A website that matches the business.
A first site, or a rebuild of the one you have. I plan, write, design and build it as one project.
You need a site that does the job.
Referred people look you up before they book. The site has to explain the work and how to enquire. I write it, design it, and build it. You own it.
The business moved. The site did not.
A redesign is more than a new coat of paint. I start with the current site and what has changed, then rebuild it so it communicates the value of the business.
Cinema 7
Micky Sabat’s film and photography studio in Sydney. I rebuilt the site and took it off Squarespace. It is live at cinema7.com.au. He owns the domain, the code and the accounts.
Rebuild, refresh, or leave it
How dated a site looks, and how long it has been, are poor guides on their own. I look at whether the words, the structure, or the ownership still match the business.
- 01
Rebuild
The words, the structure, or who holds the keys no longer match the business. That is the job I take on.
- 02
Refresh
The foundation still works. Only the surface is behind. That is a smaller job, and I will say so.
- 03
Leave it
A new site will not fix the problem. I say that before you spend.
How the work runs
- 01
Agree what it should say
We agree what the site should say, and who it is for. If a website is the wrong job, I say so before you spend anything.
- 02
Write the pages
I write the copy first. Your customers need to know exactly who you are and what you do. You approve the words before I design.
- 03
Design it
I draw it for this business, around the copy you approved. The website serves a function. I avoid adding complexity it does not need.
- 04
Build it
I build the site. If there is an existing one, I migrate it across and set the technical foundations. If addresses change, they get mapped and redirected.
- 05
Hand it over
You get the files, accounts and notes. You do not need a subscription to keep the site live.
How the project is set up
You talk to me
I handle the project. The person on the email is the person doing the work.
You own it
The domain, code, content and accounts sit with you. Do you own your website?
After launch
You run it, or you stay on a subscription for additional work. You can cancel at any point. When you cancel, you get everything handed over.
