What our AI SEO services in Bendigo include

Our AI SEO services in Bendigo cover four parts of the work. Each part is described in full on our AI SEO services page. Every engagement starts with a check of your site. We scope and price the work upfront, and our guide to what AI SEO costs explains what drives the price.

Access

We check that Google and the AI search crawlers can reach every page you want found. That covers robots.txt, indexing, redirects and the sitemap. 8% of the Bendigo sites we checked block an AI search crawler. So this step is usually quick, but one wrong line can hide a whole site.

Understanding

We add structured data and write page titles and descriptions that name the service and Bendigo. We also make your business details match on your site, your Google Business Profile and the main directories. The work happens inside your current site. WordPress was the most common platform among the Bendigo sites we checked (13 of 34).

Answers

We write a page for each service and area you want to be found for. Each page answers a customer question in its first two sentences, because answer engines quote that part. You approve every page before it goes live.

Measurement

Each month you see searches and clicks from Search Console and where your pages rank. You also see what the main AI engines say when someone asks about your category in Bendigo.

Bendigo businesses at a glance

Bendigo (ABS SA4) had 14,027 registered businesses at 30 June 2025, up 0.8% on a year earlier. 8,748 of them have no employees. Of the 5,279 that employ staff, 4,919 have fewer than 20.

Among the industries we track, construction and trades is the largest with 2,695 businesses (19.2%), then professional services (1,426) and health care (1,221).

Health care grew fastest over the year, up 9.3%. More businesses in a category means more of them competing for the same searches and the same few names in an AI answer.

What we found on Bendigo business websites

In October 2026 we checked 34 Bendigo business websites: the home page, robots.txt and llms.txt of each. We sampled businesses listed in OpenStreetMap within 10 km of the Bendigo city centre. The business counts above cover Bendigo (ABS SA4). Of the 34 sites:

  • 24%

have LocalBusiness structured data, the markup that tells search engines what kind of business it is and where. 65% have some structured data of any kind.

  • 32%

have no meta description on the home page, so Google writes its own summary for the search result.

  • 8%

block at least one AI search crawler (OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot or Claude-SearchBot) in robots.txt. A further 3% block only crawlers that collect AI training data.

  • 12%

have an llms.txt file. 2 of those 4 were generated automatically by the site builder or an SEO plugin.

Sample: 34 sites, checked 20 October 2026. Method and limits on the local data page.

By industry

Industries with at least five sites checked. Small samples, so read these as a pointer, not a census.

What we would fix first in Bendigo

Ordered by how many Bendigo sites in our sample have the gap. Your own site may differ, which is why every engagement starts by checking it.

1. Add LocalBusiness structured data

About 8 in 10 Bendigo sites we checked don't say in code what kind of business they are, where they are or when they open. It is a small job on most sites and it removes guesswork for every search engine that reads the page. Our LocalBusiness structured data guide shows what to include.

2. Write the search result summary yourself

32% of the Bendigo home pages we checked have no meta description. Google then picks a sentence from the page, which is often a cookie notice or a menu. A one-sentence summary that names the service and the area is quick to write and you control it.

3. Let AI search crawlers in

8% of Bendigo sites block an AI search crawler. OpenAI says sites that block OAI-SearchBot will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers. Check robots.txt allows OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot. Blocking training crawlers such as GPTBot is a separate choice and does not remove you from AI search.

4. Answer the questions customers ask, on your own pages

AI answers quote pages that answer the question directly. For a Bendigo business that usually means a page per service that says what you do, where, for whom, what it costs to start and how to book, written in the words customers use. What AI SEO is explains how answer engines pick their sources.

Yes. Digital Solutions (Australian Small Business Advisory Services) (check intake with your state provider): Federal programme for businesses with fewer than 20 employees and sole traders. Free online courses: Taking Your Business Online, Social Media and Content Marketing (Business Victoria) (open): Free self-paced online courses on setting up a website, email and social media, plus a social media and content marketing course that covers claiming your Google Business Profile and building a content plan. • Can you guarantee my business will appear in ChatGPT or AI Overviews?

No, and nobody can. Google says it does not guarantee any page will be crawled, indexed or shown, and the same is true of every AI engine. What we can do is remove the reasons you would be left out and measure what changes each month.
