AI SEO services for Australian businesses

AI SEO gets your business found in Google and named when customers ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews who to call. We fix what stops search engines from reaching and understanding your site, then build the pages that answer your customers' questions, and report what changes each month.

What AI SEO is

AI SEO is search engine optimisation for a world where many searches end in an answer instead of a list of links. Google shows AI Overviews above its results and offers AI Mode. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude search the web and write one reply, often naming two or three businesses and linking the pages they relied on.

Those answers are built from web pages that a crawler could reach and a search index could understand. So AI SEO keeps everything that has always made a site findable, then adds what answer engines need: plain statements of what you do and where, structured data that removes guesswork, and pages that answer a question in their first few sentences. Our guide What is AI SEO? covers the definition in more depth. The same work is also called generative engine optimisation (GEO) and answer engine optimisation (AEO).

How AI answers choose which businesses to name

Each engine names businesses from pages it can reach and has indexed. The rules for getting in are public, and they are mostly the rules of ordinary search.

  • Google says a page must be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and that there are no additional requirements or special optimisations. (Google Search Central)
  • OpenAI says sites that block its search crawler, OAI-SearchBot, will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers. Blocking GPTBot, its training crawler, is a separate setting. (OpenAI)
  • Perplexity recommends allowing PerplexityBot for a site to appear in its results, and Anthropic says blocking Claude-SearchBot may reduce a site's visibility in Claude's search results. (Perplexity, Anthropic)

Once a page is in, the engine picks what to quote. Pages that state the answer plainly, say clearly which business they belong to and where it works, and agree with what other sites say about that business are easier to quote with confidence. Our comparison of AI SEO and traditional SEO sets out what changes and what stays the same.

What we found on Australian business websites

We check local business websites ourselves, in every area we cover, and publish the results. In October 2026 we checked 1112 sites across 34 locations. The full method is on our local data page.

  • 29%

    have LocalBusiness structured data, though 73% have structured data of some kind. How to add it.

  • 25%

    have no meta description on the home page, so Google writes the search snippet itself.

  • 2%

    block an AI search crawler in robots.txt. A further 2% block only AI training crawlers, which does not affect AI search.

  • 23%

    have an llms.txt file; 53% of those were generated by the site builder or a plugin. Do you need one?

Sample: 1112 business websites in 34 Australian locations, October 2026. The full findings are in our AI search readiness report.

The pattern is the same almost everywhere. Very few businesses block AI crawlers, so access is rarely the problem. The common gap is understanding: most sites never say in a form machines can read what kind of business they are, where they are and what they do. That is fixable, and it is where we usually start.

Results

Grove Pest Control: 1 → 15 leads a week, over four months, with SEO the only change. Gridly: 26.1K Google clicks in under six months from launch, no ads. Each case study gives the source and time frame for every figure.

What AI SEO services include

AI SEO services are the work of making a business easy for search engines and AI answer engines to reach, understand and quote, then measuring the result. In our work that means four things. Other providers package them differently; our comparison of the main types of AI SEO service sets out the options.

Access

We make sure Google and the AI search crawlers can reach every page that matters: robots.txt rules, indexing, redirects, canonical tags and a sitemap that lists what you want found. Most sites need only small changes here, but one wrong line can hide a whole site.

Understanding

Structured data is code on a page that tells search engines what the business is, where it is and when it is open. We add the right types for your business, write page titles and descriptions that name the service and the area, and make your name, address and phone number match everywhere they appear, including your Google Business Profile.

Answers

We build pages for the services and areas you want to be found for. Each one answers a real customer question in its first two sentences, then gives the detail: what it involves, who it suits, how long it takes and how to start. These are the pages answer engines quote.

Measurement

Each month you see searches and clicks from Search Console, where your pages rank, and what the main AI engines say when asked about your category in your area. We decide the next round of work from what moved.

Who it suits

AI SEO suits businesses whose customers search before they buy and who serve a clear area: trades, clinics, accountants and lawyers, real estate agencies, hospitality and local retail. In those categories a customer asking "who should I call" gets a short list, and being on it matters.

It suits less well if your customers never search, or if your website cannot be edited. A business that sells only through referrals may get more from its referral partners than from search. A site locked inside a platform that will not let you change page titles or add structured data needs a decision about the platform first. We will say which applies to you after the first check.

What the first check covers

The first check is the same set of tests behind our location data, run on your whole site and not just the home page, plus the parts only you can give us access to:

  • whether Google and the AI search crawlers can reach and index each page that matters;
  • what structured data each page carries, and whether it matches the visible content;
  • page titles and descriptions, and whether they name the service and the area;
  • your business details on the site, your Google Business Profile and the main directories;
  • which searches already bring you impressions in Search Console, and which do not;
  • what the main AI engines say when asked about your category in your area.

You get the findings in writing, in the order we would fix them, with the reason for each. You can act on it yourself, with your own developer, or with us.

How the work runs

  1. 01

    Check

    We check your site the way search engines and AI crawlers see it: what they can reach, what they understand about your business, and which questions your pages answer. We look at Search Console and at what AI answers say about your category in your area. You get the findings in writing with a fix order.

  2. 02

    Fix the foundations

    Crawl access, indexing, structured data, page titles and descriptions, and your business details everywhere they appear. These are usually small changes with the widest effect.

  3. 03

    Build the pages that answer

    Pages for each service and area you want to be found for, written to answer the questions customers ask. You approve every page before it goes live.

  4. 04

    Measure and repeat

    Each month we report searches, rankings, clicks and where AI answers mention you, then decide the next pages and fixes from what moved.

What it costs

Each engagement is scoped and priced upfront, after the first check. The price depends on how much needs fixing, how many service and area pages you need, and how often you want new pages and reports. You see all of that in writing before you commit. Our guide to what AI SEO costs explains what drives the price and what to ask any agency before you sign.

What we won't promise

We won't promise a ranking, a position in an AI answer or a number of leads. Google says it does not guarantee that any page will be crawled, indexed or shown, and every AI engine decides its own answers. Anyone who guarantees a placement is guessing or buying ads.

What we will do is remove the reasons you would be left out, build the pages that give you a fair chance, and show you each month what changed. If your site does not need us, we will say so after the first check.

AI SEO by location

Each location page shows the local business mix, what we found on local business websites, and the support programmes in that state, all dated and sourced.

Frequently asked questions

  • What are AI SEO services?

    AI SEO services get a business found in Google and named in AI answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. They cover crawl access, structured data, pages that answer customers' questions, consistent business details and monthly measurement of searches and AI mentions.

  • Who is AI SEO for?

    Australian businesses whose customers search before they buy: trades, clinics, professional services, real estate, hospitality and local retail. It suits businesses with a working website and a clear service area. If your site is a single page with no services described, we would start there.

  • How long before we see changes?

    Technical fixes can show in Search Console within weeks. New pages take longer to be crawled, indexed and trusted; Google says recrawling can take days to months. We report monthly from the first month so you can see what is moving and what is not.

  • Do we need a new website?

    Usually not. Most of the work happens inside your current site: its code, its pages and its settings. If the platform blocks something essential, such as editing page titles or adding structured data, we will tell you in the first check.

  • Do you write the content?

    Yes. We draft the pages and you approve them before they go live. You know your business; we know what search engines and AI answers need from a page. Nothing is published under your name without your sign-off.
