Which SEO agencies offer the best AI SEO services?
The best AI SEO services come from agencies that show checkable past results, explain every change, check AI search crawler access and structured data, and report on AI answers as well as rankings. Avoid any agency that guarantees rankings or AI placements. Google says no one can guarantee a top ranking in its results.

There is no independent ranking of AI SEO agencies
Lists of the "top AI SEO agencies" are usually written by an agency, a directory paid by the agencies listed, or a site earning referral fees. None of them can see a client's Search Console. So the honest answer to "which agencies are best" is a set of checks you can run on any agency, including us.
Google publishes its own advice on hiring someone for search work (Google Search Central). It applies to AI SEO almost unchanged, because AI answers are built from pages that search crawlers reach and index. The checks below combine Google's advice with what AI search adds.
Seven checks for any AI SEO agency
| Check | A good sign | A warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Past work | Search Console or analytics screenshots from real clients, with the client named or the reason they can't be. | Only logos, or results nobody can check. |
| Method | A plain explanation of each change and why it should help. | "Proprietary" or secret methods. |
| Crawl access | Checks robots.txt for OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot as well as Googlebot. | Treats AI crawlers as an afterthought, or blocks them by default. |
| Structured data | Adds the specific type for your business and checks it matches the page. | Generic markup copied onto every page. |
| Content | Pages written for your customers' questions, which you approve before they go live. | Large volumes of AI-written pages with no review. |
| Reporting | Search Console data plus a regular check of what AI engines say about you. | Only rankings for terms nobody searches, or no AI reporting at all. |
| Promises | Realistic ranges and a timeline, agreed against a baseline. | Guaranteed rankings or guaranteed AI placements. |
Ask to see results you can check
Google suggests asking for examples of past work and success stories, and checking references with past clients. For AI SEO, ask for two kinds of evidence: Search Console performance for a client site over at least six months, and dated examples of AI answers that named the client. Then ask whether you can speak to that client.
A new agency may not have much of this yet. That is not disqualifying, but it should then show its working in other ways: a specific, written check of your own site, and published data or guides that show how it thinks. Our own method is on our local data page.
Ask how they handle AI crawlers
This question separates agencies that understand AI search from those that have added "AI" to an old service. Each answer engine has its own search crawler: OAI-SearchBot for ChatGPT, PerplexityBot for Perplexity and Claude-SearchBot for Claude. Blocking one keeps you out of that engine's answers. Each company also runs separate training crawlers, such as GPTBot, which do not affect search inclusion (OpenAI). A good agency explains that difference in a sentence and checks your robots.txt in the first week.
In practice, few sites block AI search crawlers. Across the 1112 Australian business websites we checked in October 2026, 2% did. The more common gap was structured data: only 29% had LocalBusiness markup. An agency that leads with crawler panic and skips structured data has its priorities backwards.
Ask how they use AI to write content
Google does not ban AI-written content. It says generative AI can help with research and structure, but that producing many pages without adding value for users may breach its spam policy on scaled content abuse (Google Search Central). Ask how many pages the agency plans to publish, who checks each one for accuracy, and whether you approve them before they go live. A plan built on volume alone puts your site at risk.
Ask what you get each month
The report is where you judge the work. It should show impressions and clicks from Search Console for the pages the agency changed, rankings for the searches you agreed on, what was published or fixed, and what the main AI engines said about your category and area. Our guide to what AI SEO costs lists what else to agree before you sign.
Walk away from guarantees
Google says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, and warns against anyone claiming a special relationship with Google or offering priority submission. The same applies to AI answers: every engine decides its own replies, and no agency controls them. An agency that guarantees a placement is guessing, or plans to measure something other than what you care about.
How Galactia answers these checks
We publish our method and our data. We check AI crawler access, structured data and your business details first, you approve every page before it goes live, and the monthly report covers Search Console and AI answers. We don't guarantee placements. Our AI SEO services page sets out the work in full.
Questions
-
Should we choose an agency that only does AI SEO?
Not necessarily. AI answers are built from pages that search crawlers reach and index, so an agency still needs solid ordinary SEO. What matters is whether it also checks AI crawler access, structured data and what AI engines say about you, and reports on it.
-
How do we check an agency's AI SEO results?
Ask to see a client's Search Console performance over time and a dated record of AI answers that named the client. Then ask the client. Results that can't be traced to a date, a client and a source are claims, not evidence.
-
Is a cold email offering AI SEO a red flag?
Treat it with care. Google advises scepticism towards unsolicited email about search engines. A good agency may still email you, but it should be able to show specific, checkable findings about your own site, not a generic pitch.
